Is Your Body a Mess or a Masterpiece?
Yes, I know this is an interesting question, but when you really think about it…
Many of the foods and drinks people consume today cannot even be called foods! With all the processing and refinement…
-out goes the nutrients, fiber, and enzymes
-in comes loads of sugar and all the chemical additives… Not a good exchange!
These basically trick your body into thinking they are good… and they may taste good, which is why they were created to begin with… but let’s be real! THESE ARE THE DISCARDS after all the good stuff is removed! The real garbage that offers no real benefit, and makes a mess out of your body.
Those foods deserve to be tossed in the garbage… not your body!!
The truth is… your body functions optimally with good nutrients: vitamins, minerals, fiber, enzymes, probiotics, all the components that we get from fresh, whole, unadulterated foods. And when this is what you put in your body along with pure, clean water, you have the perfect combination to truly nourish, cleanse, and support your body’s daily functions. Your gut and your cells are happy - they don’t have to struggle to keep up with the demand.
Here’s a sneak peek at what I send my coaching clients… those who are ready for a healthy weight, feeling, and looking their best… just like a masterpiece (though the healing process will take time)!
I always start with…
DIET… Eat everything whole as much as possible.....
-raw vegetables, limited raw fruits
-raw whole nuts and seeds
-whole eggs and meats
-chicken, fish - preferably naturally raised, no preservatives, be choosy
-whole olives & artichokes
-olive, avocado or coconut oil is good, omit most of the rest
-seasonings and salt (Himalayan, Celtic, Real salt, great electrolytes, and these help balance your minerals) - no table salt (which creates an imbalance)
-honey, stevia, monkfruit sweetener, apple cider vinegar is good - not in excess
-raw almond butter, sunflower butter is ok - NO peanut butter (even organic is grown underground, high in molds)
-avoid processed foods or grain flours, if at all possible, and especially the first 90 days all white sugar, white/wheat flour, refined oils, then replace with almond flour recipes and foods, olive and coconut oils for fats.
-avoid all/most milk products except butter and replace with almond or coconut milk/milk products
-avoid soft drinks, sports drinks, energy drinks, coffee, juices, etc.
-drink loads of water (minimum 90-100 oz daily) with essential oils and herbal teas... adding whole-food supplements will fill the gap!
Yes, this is a low-carb approach to heal your gut... with a focus on lots of fresh vegetables along with healthy fats and proteins... one-ingredient foods. Removing the high carbs and processed foods, especially, will be foundational!
MENU SUGGESTIONS & EXAMPLES
-Breakfast/Lunch: stick to mostly protein and vegetables/fruit such as eggs with some spinach or zucchini; quinoa/ hemp seed with berries and coconut milk or Paleo Granola (below); chicken or egg on green salad with steamed vegetables, avocado dices, salsa or see mix (one-meal salads are great)
-Snacks: raw nuts, nut butter fudge, celery and nut butter, apple slices and almond butter
-Dinner: (think whole) baked chicken or fish, baked sweet potato or steamed broccoli, green salad; meat and vegetable soups with celery on the side
Most of those I coach really give this their best shot and see phenomenal improvements in how they look and feel. But keep in mind…
-it doesn’t happen overnight
-it is a process of resetting your gut
-it’s simpler than you think if you just give it a try!!

The taste is all here, but not the grains or the sugar! This simple recipe is a very nice replacement that the whole family will enjoy! You can mix it up in just a few minutes… No baking here!
PALEO GRANOLA
1 cup raw almonds
1 cup raw walnuts
1/4 cup raw coconut oil
1/4 cup raw honey
pinch salt
6 drops tangerine essential oil (these oils are optional, but add great flavor, and great for gut health)
1 drop ginger essential oil
1 drop spearmint essential oil
2/3 cup raw fine-shred coconut
1/2 cup raw pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup raw sunflower seeds
2 tablespoons chia seeds
-In a blender, chop walnuts and almonds until medium-sized pieces.
-In a small saucepan, heat coconut oil and honey together just to mix, do not get hot.
-Remove and stir in salt and essential oils.
-Stir in the nut mixture and other ingredients.
-Store in a glass bowl with tight lid and enjoy as a cereal (topped with berries and coconut milk), yogurt or fruit topping, or a tasty snack. Yum!!
