Simple Tips for a Healthy Thanksgiving Dinner

It's a wonderful time of year to gather with family and remember the first Thanksgiving.... a celebration of newcomers to America with new friends, freedom, country, opportunities, and foods.

So as we look at Thanksgiving Dinner, is eating healthy possible? Absolutely, and without the feeling of missing out! Here are some simple tips to keep the meal simple, tasty and good for you too!

1) Season your turkey with my Stir-Fry Seasoning Salt (below) or follow the recipe in my ebook (download below). Then place turkey in a baking bag inside a roasting pan, and bake slow and long so the turkey falls off the bone... 12-15 lb turkey for 4+ hours at 300F.

2) Keep your sweet potatoes savory NOT sweet. I have come across many people in the last few years who "hate sweet potatoes" until they try mine. People love the savory flavor (see recipe in ebook).

3) Serve a big green salad and/or fresh vegetables with your dinner. These have your much needed enzymes for digesting a big meal of foods. Then fill up on them first - it's really okay to keep other food portions smaller.

4) Wait on the pies 2-3 hours after you eat dinner. Our family has found that we all feel so much better when we do.... clean up, go for a walk, play some games, take a nap, then come back for pie!

5) Substitute monkfruit sweetener for the sugar in your pies.... you won't taste the difference but your blood sugar levels will welcome the difference.

6) Skip the whipping cream and substitute coconut cream - it's super tasty! Just chill a (full-fat) can of coconut milk overnight, scoop off the cream on top, place in a small bowl, whisk with a little vanilla and powdered monkfruit sweetener (just powder in blender). Tasty!

When you consider your gut health and eat cleaner, you feel so much better and your body will thank you! Enjoy the ebook and have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and Dinner!

Happy Health!
